A week on the clock

We have been having a great time at work. The kids are enjoying the gym as much as me. T loves the basketball court, throwing the balls around and missing baskets, Jade loves Craft time. We worked from 9-1 on Friday and picked up another shift til 9 at night. Uncle Ryan came and got the kids, he was going to take them to the pool, but it was so close to closing- he let them play in the shower instead. It may sound weird, but the shower area has it's own dressing area in it and there's lots of room for the kids to play and be in the water. Rob met him there and then took the kids to eat. They didn't want to go without me because they know they get a treat on the way home if they were good!

Being Pirates

Jade wants to get herself dressed every morning. I love the help but her "matcher" isn't fully developed yet. Rob tells me to leave her be, but I know she's gonna see pictures on day and she'll be holding me accountable. Today was a good day though! She picked out her clothes and then put on a belt, so she could wear T's pirate sword. They each took turns posing for pictures with the sword. As you can see in the pictures, Jade gets destracted and then T gets his turn. Then they dance and kiss, didn't get a great shot of it, but they held the pose for as long as they could. T found his HEBuddy hat and had to show it off for the camera, too.

Click on the speaker icon just under the pictures to hear the "Pirate Song"

Swimming Dilemmas

T and Jade went swimming the other night. They pulled the slide over to the edge of the pool, but everytime they would slide down, the slide would move back and their booties would hit the edge of the pool. So, I put turtle under the slide and now they can go down with confidence. It was cute though, whatching them rub their butt while running back to the slide for another go!! The kids have been swimming in the pool and then running inside to get into the bathtub. Rob caught on to what we were doing and put a stop to it. So, the kids are down to one bath a day and the pool's getting a little less use, but the floors are staying dry!!

I'm setting up expandable post for Bev...This is the First Test

This is a Test... This is only a Test. Rob set me up with this COOL post expander thing!! Thanks Rob! The only thing is, some of the older posts will say READ MORE, even if there's nothing on there to read more of. Sorry for the confustion, but I'll try to make it easy to know if they're expandable. Like in the middle of a sentence or something like that.

Potty Break!!

We've been working since Wednesday and the kids are still liking it. We're working through some kinks, though. Jade is ready to go swimming after the 1st. hour and asks me when we're leaving about every 10min. T doesn't like it when I go in the infant room, because he can't come in there. It's sectioned off by a knee wall with a glass door that he likes to sit in front of with a big pouty lip watching me to see if I'm watching him. But, for the most part they're getting the hang of things.

Today was a Primary Activity. The kids had a really good time. They got to color on some paper and attach it with a pass-along card to a balloon. They heard missionary experiences from people who had served in Argentina, Puerto Rico, South Africa, and Holland. Then they got to have a relay race and eat Popsicles outside where they let the balloons go. We got back home around lunch. I let the kids stay home with Rob to go swimming while I went to work from 2 until 7.

After work I met them at Pappasito's for Aunt Jefra's graduation dinner. She graduated today from UT with a Bachelor's Degree in Science- (Child Development). We're really happy for her. The kids picked out her presents. Jade got her a picture frame and T got her a really big green candle with frogs on it. Jade also had to pick out the bag - it said "Wedding" all over it. T got tired before dinner was over and Uncle Ryan volunteered to hold him. T fell asleep right away and then peed on his Uncle Ryan. Poor Uncle Ryan, he always gets peed on. Last month he watched the kids for us and they were running around the pool. Jade jumped up in his lap and when she got up he noticed a wet spot. He asked her if she had peed on him and she said, "Yeah, I'm sorry" and then ran off to play. Like saying I'm sorry makes it all go away. It's so weired b/c the kids are potty trained. Jade never has accidents, and T will wake me up at 4am. crying to go potty but still won't wet the bed AND he doesn't wake up for that; his eyes are shut the whole time!! Weird huh? I guess they just love Uncle Ryan so much it makes them so relaxed they lose all muscle control, or maybe they're marking their territory? I don't know, but I'm glad it wasn't me.

Turtle FHE

We were swimming in the pool after work, when Rob called and told us Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was showing at 5:00. It was 3:30, but the kids don't like to rush their pool time. I called T over and asked him if he was ready to go, he said "No". But when I told him Dad said he was going to take us to see the Turtle Movie- (that's what T calls it), he said,"Okay, let's go". Jade didn't really want to go, she said it was scarry.
We went to Fuddruckers (didn't make it to the 5, picked the 7 instead) and T had half of my turkey burger after he ate his usual- a hotdog. During the movie he sat at the edge of his seat. He didn't budge. When the movie was out, Rob asked him how he liked it. He said, "Turtles fight."
Then he went into some "Turtle moves" and broke down the fight scenes for us! he's soo funny!
Jade said she liked it, too.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to Nenee and Grandma and Me

Yeah for us! I sent Mom a letter with pictures from Jade(T won't color!!). She drew a picture of herself on the beach in the sand and the whole picture was done in a light peach color. Mom said,"And I see a picture here with a red border, but nothings on it" HAHAHAHA!! The other picture was of Jade and Sugar, and on the back was a picture of Nenee. I sent her flowers, well, a picture of flowers- so she could tape it to her office wall.

Rob and the kids got me a box of chocolates to help me with my diet.

At church the kids made me Mother's Awards with hershey's kisses and hugs taped to them. I know there were kisses and hugs on them, because when the kids gave me my awards the wrapper were still there as evidence!! But, I got chocolate kisses smeared on my checks and that was better!! (For my diet, too!!)

After church, we went to Aunt Kristina and Uncle Ricks. The food was incredible and man can they set a table. The presentation was so nice, it was almost a shame to have to mess it all up. The kids gave Grandma their present (of chocolates from around the world), but T made Grandma let him unwrap it.

Aunt Kristy put Jade's hair up in pigtails and it was so cute. Her hair is really getting long!! Jade and Aunt Kristy cuddled up and watched Toy Story, while T had a good time jumping over Uncle Rick.

On the Job

Well, our first day on the job was a big hit. The kids LOVED having mom around while they played. The only thing they didn't like was not being able to get to me when I was in the infant area. Still the walls are only chest high and they can see me. They rode scooters around on the gym floor and Jade played on the computers for awhile.
When we got off, we went to the pool. They were having a pool party. There was a clown making balloon animals , swords, hats and stuff. The kids brought home horse balloons, but before we made it out the door T's horse had become a snake. His balloon finally popped about an hour ago, I was in the office checking email and there was a loud "pop". Jade is at the kitchen table coloring, and T went over to her and told her,"look, I popped my balloon- it popped." She took his balloon guts, examined them closely (as if looking for a way to fix it), then said,"it's okay T, it's alright." He said, "Yeah" and went back to the other room. Kids are so funny. Here I thought he was gonna come unglued, but for Jade, he's just so reasonable. (He's like that for Rob too~!)

We Got a Job!!!

We got a job working at LifeTime Fitness!! I say "We" because I'll be able to take the kids with me. I'll be working in the Childcare Center. It has a playscape, computers, outdoor play area with a rock climbing wall, and a small basketball court. I'll get to rotate through the different areas and the kids can just play. And, we get a free membership, so when we get off at 2pm. we'll go swimming in the pool & play on their waterslides!!! And, yes, I'll work out and the kids can play in the Center without me!

Check out their virtual tour.

Here's what it says online about the Kids Center:

SHARK!!!

Though the weather seemed kinda iffy, the kids really wanted to walk to the park. We got to play for about 30min. before the rain started. I called Rob to come pick us up. I wanted to call sooner rather than later in case it really started coming down. (There's no cover) But, it never really became much more than a sprinkle, and even that didn't last long. (oops :( )
When we got home, Rob told the kids they could go swimming. That was a huge hit. They played Shark mostly. T would stand on the stairs and save Jade from the shark as she floated by on her kickboard. He'd say, "Hurry princess hurry" (really sounds more like herder). They probably stayed out there for a little over an hr., but they came back inside ready to get in the tub- teeth chattering. They stayed in their suits in the tub for another hour.

Guestbook Update

We were so excited to see pictures from Brandy's and David's families. The kids have really grown!! We love you guys and miss you bunches. I think of ya'll all the time!! Thanks for signing our Guest Book! The kids love looking at the map and having the pictures come up. Check out our Guestbook for the other pictures!! And add to it. I've put it at the bottom of our blog, also.

**Jade's New Bracelet**

Host unlimited photos at slide.com for FREE!
I hope this works!! We ordered her a PINK one. I think she's gonna like it! I found a pdf file on google for a homemade thumb guard and I think Jade will like it better than the commercial ones. (They only come with 5 pink bands and the guard is clear).

"Wormie"

We had a really bad storm come through last night and the power went out around 8:00. We lite candles and had a good time singing the kids to sleep. This afternoon while I was cleaning out Train (the name Jade gave our pool cleaner), I pulled a gigantic wopper of a worm out of the bag. GROSS. The kids loved it! T tried to feed it grass. I tried to put it in the dirt by the house and T begged to keep him. So, I got an extra trash can from out of the garage and put some dirt in it. I put Wormie (why do they insist on putting an e on words?) in the trash can. Jade came out with a glass of what I thought was water and gave Wormie a drink. It was orange drink. T wanted a turn, so I talked him into giving Wormie a glass of water and promised him he could do this each day.
