Happy Birthday to You

This year T had a Transformer party and Jade had another princess party.

We were one princess short this year. It wasn't quite the same without Aunt Kylene. And I don't just mean we were lite on decorations, though we were that too!

Happy 3rd. Birthday T!

For T's birthday this year, he had his very own birthday party. Everybody came over for ice cream and cake. Grandma & Pa Pa gave him a cool superman that he enjoyed throwing all over the house.

Jeremiah's Coming!! Jeremiah's Coming!!

Robert's entry in T's journal:

It's 9:30am on Oct. 28th, 2003. I'm sitting in my wife's OB/GYN office. She's trying to get cleaned up from her water gushing out on our way to the office. We are on an adventure. Yesterday about this time, we were at Oakland Emergency for a surgery on a stricture in my urethra. They were cutting out the scar tissue and then placing a stint in there to keep the urethra open. I woke up kinda crazy from the anesthesia and they drugged me up a lot. So I was peeing blood all day yesterday and wearing man diapers all day. I hardly slept a wink last night because I am so uncomfortable. In fact, I played XBOX until 4am. I woke up at 6:30 to hear Beverly telling me that her water broke. We called Bev's mom so she could get on the road to get here. We called my mom and she came and picked up Jade, who is walking by the way. So here we are. I'm walking all crippled with a ton of pain in my groin region and leaking blood and squirting urine; her pants are soaked from gushing water and now she's explaining to her doctor what happened.

2pm. We came straight over to the hospital from the doctor, but they decided to wait to give Bev petosin to see if she would labor without it... she didn't. So we wasted about 2 hours with no progress with the contraction, until they gave her the petosin. Now whe is beginning to have some major type contractions. We have been playing on the laptop, games like Backgammom, Free Cell, and match game. I'm bleeding still and I'm not urinating in a steady stream, so I called the Dr., but he hasn't returned my call. We forgot that we had the Cable Modem guy coming out today,
so I had Ryan go to the house to meet him. Kylene had a flat tire, so Dad had to take her car to get it fixed. Mom is watching Jade and said she has been an angel. Bev's Aunt Cheryl is having a birghday today! Mom is trying to call Bev's Mom to see where she is and trying to get one of my prescriptions that hadn't been filled yet. I called work (DELL)and told them that the Dr. told me not to work until Thursday at least, but Bev is in labor, so we'll see. Ryan has been doing a lot for us. My job at DELL is basically about to expire (my numbers have not been that good and my temp hours are about to run out), so Ryan and I are about to start a Mobile Detailing/ Car Washing Business. We are really excited for it. We have great nurses, they are very nice. I just wish they'd started this process sooner than they did, but that's okay. Hey! Bev finally got a hold of one of my nurses! We'll catch you later...
5:15pm I just urinated for real! My mom just got here and gave me some food cuz I was feeling sick. Then I went to the bathroom and urinated correctly for the first time. Mom is now helping with Bev. Dad is picking up the last prescription for me which is for the burning and bladder spasms. Bev's mom called and she is in Mobile still, so she'll still be a while. Dad is watching Jade and had to cancel his church meetings tonight. The anesthesiologist is on his way to give Bev an epidural. Unfortunately Bev's doctor had to leave so one of her co doctors is going to have to deliver the baby. Bev needs my help now, so i'll go over there, I just needed to report a turnaround of events since I was able to PEEE!!!
6:00pm. Bev just had her epidural and is doing very well. We are hoping that within the hour we will welcome Jeremiah Teancum Rees. This is always the more comfortable time cuz Bev doesn't feel the pain and is more upbeat. I made the unfortunate mistake of giving our room telephone number out to a few people and told them not to give it out to anyone else...yeah right...the phone's been ringing off the hook!! The doctor just checked Bev and said she's till only 5cm. dialated, so we'll be here for a while.
7:00pm. Well, she's 90% effaced but still 5cm. dilated. They are preparing us for the long haul...6am! I don't know about this. They want to increse the pitosing for harder contractions, but the baby is not really responding well to the current contractions. The nurses here are very conservative which I guess is good, but it takes longer for the final result. I guess as long as it's safe and healthy.
7:45pm. The anesthesiologist just left and let Bev know that she can increase the dosage if needed. They rolled Bev on her left side so that the baby will stop freaking out during a contraction. Bev and the anesthesiologist share war stories for a little while and then he had to go. The doctor is coming to check Bev in a little bit to see if there is any advancement.
2:50pm Oct. 29, 2003
There is a lot that has happened obviously. A podiatrist came in to check the baby, which now may not be named Jeremiah Teancum but may be named Robert Teancum. Beverly is working on me for a name change. I guess we'll need to talk about it soon cuz they are picking up the Birth Certificate at 3pm. What's that?...Huh?... Oh! Yeah! I forgot. Let me back up. WE HAVE A BABY!! The doctor checke dher and said she was about ready so they were looking at 45min. later they'd push the baby out. So mom and I cleaned the room, but then they came in and said that they had an emergency C section and they needed to slow up her pitosin so the baby wouldn't come before the doctor was ready. Needless to say, at 10:43pm with 3 pushes we got us a baby. Beverly did so well agian! Her epidural started to wear off and she was deifnitely feeling the contractions and the baby, but she refused more drugs so that she could feel her pushes and be able to walk afterwards. She didn't have nearly as much damage or anything. The baby scored a 9.9 on the Apgar test. He did so well. He has a very light cry. It's so cute...maybe he'll be DOCILE!! Don't get me excited! Beverly is doing great, too. But, because he was born so late, we won't be able to leave until tomorrow morning. Ryan came by and got us some Mexican food late last night and we watched SportsCenter. Dad came over this morning and forced me to eat some oatmeal so I could take my pills. It's about time to take my medicine again and I need to eat. I've been sleeping all day to try to make up for my lack of rest from yesterday. But now I'm really starting to wake up. Bev hasn't slept very much today unfortunately. I really need to start a business, anyway I gotta go.
