Baby Squirrel went out to play today and didn't come back!. The sun went down and the storms rolled into Round Rock with a mighty force!! Mom called and asked us if we heard any hail. We were watching a movie and I had already been in the backyard looking for squirrel too many times to count. Glad for a different excuse to go outside I went to see if anything was going on. Then I saw a few pellets of ice hit. They were very random and quarter size. I said "Yep, gotta go" to mom and then yelled to Rob as I ran for the keys and headed out the front door to move the cars. Now the hail as grown to softball size and I'm thinking even my arm covering my head won't save me. Is a car really worth this? Then the wind really picked up and Rob said the branches of the trees were swirling straight up in the air. So, we pulled the kids out of their beds by their ankles and headed for the closet in the dining room. T wouldn't wake up for anything. He was sleeping sitting up and I had to push him over with my foot to get him to lay down. When things calmed down and we got the kids back in bed, I made a few more trips outside hoping Baby Squirrel would be in the back yard. This was the worst night ever for him to stay out all night!!
The next day there were tree limbs everywhere. I had to be at work by 9am. but I couldn't help checking the backyard a few more times. On the way home from work, Rob called and said Baby Squirrel was back. He heard some scratching at the back door, and Baby Squirrel was half way up the door scratching to get in. When the door opened, he jumped on Rob and ran around him a few times. Then he jumped off and ran to his food, he ate for 15 min. and then went to his pillow on the couch and slept the rest of the night.
