Update

So much has happened, and all too quickly. The kids are growing up so fast. Jade loves kindergarten and T is enjoying preschool (who would have thought it). I can hardley believe Jade is a CTR 7 this year. Rob is doing insurance appraisals and I'm full time at Life Time Fitness in the Child Care Center. Gamie and Paw Paw just came for a visit and we had so much fun getting to visit with them. The kids enjoyed them being here.

Everybody's a TEENAGER!!!

Baby Squirrel stays out all night, and only comes home to eat and take a nap. We were expecting that, but Jade & T have to hang out with their friends and can't be bothered. Wow! They're so funny. We still make lots of time for family, boy is time starting to fly! Read more!

Out ALL Night!!!

Baby Squirrel went out to play today and didn't come back!. The sun went down and the storms rolled into Round Rock with a mighty force!! Mom called and asked us if we heard any hail. We were watching a movie and I had already been in the backyard looking for squirrel too many times to count. Glad for a different excuse to go outside I went to see if anything was going on. Then I saw a few pellets of ice hit. They were very random and quarter size. I said "Yep, gotta go" to mom and then yelled to Rob as I ran for the keys and headed out the front door to move the cars. Now the hail as grown to softball size and I'm thinking even my arm covering my head won't save me. Is a car really worth this? Then the wind really picked up and Rob said the branches of the trees were swirling straight up in the air. So, we pulled the kids out of their beds by their ankles and headed for the closet in the dining room. T wouldn't wake up for anything. He was sleeping sitting up and I had to push him over with my foot to get him to lay down. When things calmed down and we got the kids back in bed, I made a few more trips outside hoping Baby Squirrel would be in the back yard. This was the worst night ever for him to stay out all night!!
The next day there were tree limbs everywhere. I had to be at work by 9am. but I couldn't help checking the backyard a few more times. On the way home from work, Rob called and said Baby Squirrel was back. He heard some scratching at the back door, and Baby Squirrel was half way up the door scratching to get in. When the door opened, he jumped on Rob and ran around him a few times. Then he jumped off and ran to his food, he ate for 15 min. and then went to his pillow on the couch and slept the rest of the night.

Show & Tell

Jade took Baby Squirrel to Show and Tell at school. Don't worry... I called ahead and made sure her teacher was okay with it. T got to come too, and was very excited. He has a hard time with Jade going to school without him. We've been working at the gym, and when Ms. Diana's Pre K class isn't full, he gets to participate. We were invited to come to their Science Fair on the 16th., but I made no promises, as Baby Squirrel is getting bigger and may not be with us much longer.

Baby Squirrel

Thursday, we were all outside jumping on the trampoline when we heard a loud chirping coming from our tree . At first we thought it was a baby bird, but then we saw a baby squirrel making his way back up the tree. The next day the baby squirrel came back down and hopped over towards T, who was jumping on the trampoline. The squirrel put his front paws up as if to climb up the trampoline trying to get to T. T hollered in to me and mom beat me out there. The baby squirrel hopped to her and she backed away, keeping her distance until I could reach Mandy on the phone (she's my own personal Bindi Queen of Nature). Once we got the okay, Mom slowed her pace and allowed the baby squirrel to catch up. The climbed up her leg and cuddled up into a ball in her hand. We brought him in and gave him some water from a syringe. Later we got the proper formula and made him a nest. (From what we can tell he was about 4 weeks old). On Sat. we left for College Station for Jacob Rees' baptism, and had to bring baby squirrel (this is his name now) with us. He stayed in his nest until he got roudy, so we got a pet carrier and gave him some room to roam. When we got back home, we let him out to play- but he was not interested at all!
