No More Thumbs

Jade is trying very hard to stop sucking her thumb and we are trying everything to help her. JT is the best help of all. Everytime he catches her sucking her thumb, he says, "You're sucking your thumb Jade, we won't get to go to Chuck E Cheese's. No sucka you thumb." We have her a finger cot that she gets to put on her thumb to help her remember it has yucky stuff on it. We paint it with "THUMS". It has cayenne extract in it. She says it's Hot-ACTUALLY she says "it's on fire."
The kids had to be put back to bed at about 4am. this morning and she told me, "My thumb's all better Mom, now I can suck it!" It was late, so I let it go. Today she hasn't sucked her thumb not once -ALL DAY LONG!
We went to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate. I have a reward calendar for going to Chuck E Cheese's if you don't suck your thumb for 2 weeks, you get 10 free tokens, but I think it may be too long for a start. I thought a trip to Chuck E Cheese in the beginning may help remind her Chuck E Cheese's is a lot more fun than sucking her thumb!! I'm going to give her tokens each day she doesn't suck her thumb and when the chart is full she'll get to go again.

Jade's Talk

Jade gave a talk this past Sunday in Primary. Her topic was, "Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can repent and be saved." She did such a good job. I was working in the Primary that hour and so Robert helped her with her talk. He helped her pick out several pictures of Christ. She sat at the front of the room and waited for her turn to go up.
She went up and started her talk by herself. Robert was standing near the door. She held up the first picture of Jesus (praying in Gethsemane) and really just rambled. She basically said Jesus was praying. Rob went to her side and helped her say He was praying for us. The second picture was of Jesus on the cross and she said, "He died for our sins... The third picture was His Ressurection. Rob helped her say, "...so that we can live with Him again."
She did such a good job, and she was very excited. She got a sticker for giving a talk, and even though she lost the sticker before class was over; she told me all about it after church.

Easter Sunday

We put our baskets and plastic eggs out for the Easter Bunny to fill and hide for us. The kids had a great time hunting for all their eggs. They found some presents hidden, too. They thought their hunt was complete, but then they started finding eggs up above their eye level. There were some hidden on the chair railing and on the top of the fireplace mantle. We went to Grandma and Pa Pa's for another hunt and had a great time.!!!

COLD Night

It dropped down into the 30's with rain expected tonight and Sunday! Boy, is it cold. We got all cuddled up to read scripture before bed. Sugar, Jade & T all shared the love seat. Tomorrow we were planning to go to some Easter Egg Hunts, but I don't think the weather will cooperate.

Egg Hunts

We went to the Old Settlers Park for the Easter Egg Hunt. The weather was so bad that they decided to make it a drive through. After that we went to IKEA and had breakfast, Happy Feet was showing and the kids loved that. Jade & T both danced to the music. When we finished breakfast, we put T in SmallLand and looked at kitchens. When we picked T up, the Easter Bunny was taking pictures with the kids. T also got his face painted like a bunny and they gave him bunny ears!!! We had ice cream and then rode around until the kids crashed!

Eggs for Easter

Today we went to pick out our Easter Baskets. We found some big sand buckets at the Dollar Tree. I printed off some Easter stickers from the Family Fun website and we decorated our buckets with them.
We went to Grandma & Pa Pa's that night to die Easter Eggs. Aunt Kylene, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Jefra, and Grandma helped the kids die the eggs. They made lots of colorful eggs. Aunt Ky put cool wrappers on some. There were Superman wrappers and pretty flower wrappers. Aunt Jefra made a Bevo egg and Uncle Jeff wrote Chinese on some.
