Kylene & Jeff's Wedding

Rob's Photo Album
Kylene and Jeff were married at the San Antonio Temple. It was a beautiful day and the flowers were spectacular. Their reception was at the DoubleTree Hotel. In the courtyard area there were several fountains. Perfect for pictures.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION

Kristina put together a fantastic slideshow on her family website. (Mom, be sure to click the play button just under the field of flowers picture to start the music, then click on start slideshow- you and Aunt Marie will feel like you were there.) I can't wait to figure out how to do this!!!

Jade's Photo Album
Jade took some fantastic pictures at the Temple. She really has a unique view because of her height. She can get in there and get the pictures no one else can! AND because of her age, everyone is willing to humor her. They'll pose for her and she gets some great candid shot. She's so small, she hard to notice. Ky's Endowment Day

Ky got her endowments out Feb. 22. We dropped the kids off with Amie Taylor and headed down to San Antonio around 5pm. we took the long way, but later found out that's the only reason we made it on time. Kristina and Rick took I-35 from downtown around 4 and made it to the temple about 15min. before us! It was great having the whole Rees family in the Celestial Room! After the session, we went to IHOP and got home late! Amie called me the next day and said the kids had a great time playing with Javan. T was afraid of their dog, but it's a Great Dane and twice T's height. She said T ran around the house saying, "What the heck?" (we'll listen out for that), and that Jade is definitely going to need braces. She really loves sucking her thumb.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Our family was sealed in the San Antonio Temple on Valentine's Day! We got our approval letter late Sunday night. The Stake President called and told Robert to go check the mail. Monday the temple was closed, so the first thing I did Tues. was start calling the temple. We wanted to get the availability dates so we could start calling the family, but every time I called the temple the line would go dead. I called Robert several times and I was receiving calls as well. After a few hours I was able to speak to someone at the temple about their availability. She put me on hold, to get the information and again the line went dead. I was able to get through a second time about 10 minutes later. I asked her what was the soonest availability and she said, "How about tomorrow at 11? You can imagine my surprise and excitement that we could be sealed by tomorrow afternoon! I was too afraid to ask her to let me call my husband and get back with her, because of all the challenges we were facing, so I made the appt. We went through all the information she needed (lots of dates), but before I could get her our membership numbers, she couldn't hear me though I could hear her. So I drove to a friend’s house to call from there. When I tried to use her phone, there was no dial tone at all. About 15min. later a call came in. I was so excited! When she got off the phone, the line went dead again. I was able to finally get through a little before 5pm. and she said the information had been deleted, so we needed to start over! But, we got the information set up and our Sealing scheduled for the next day, but now it would be at 12 instead of 11. When I got off the phone with her I immediately called Robert and told him the situation.

Next, I tried Mom & Kylene at the store and had to call three more times to get the call to go through! Because it was going to be the next day, we didn't think anyone other than Mom & Dad Rees would be able to make it. We met with the Bishop for our Live Ordinance Recommends and when our meeting with the Stake Pres. ended it was 11pm. that night. We got to bed around 1am. Then we got up early the next morning and headed to San Antonio, we got the kids temple clothes at the Distribution Center.
Jade loved her dress and twirled around to show her Pa Pa. Then we hurried in for our meeting with the Temple President.

Mom said Jade cried a little when we left them for our interview, but she told Jade that she was in the Lord's house and that she was going to be sealed forever to her family and to Jesus Christ. Jade cheered right up and said, "OK" . When they came in they were so cute in their white clothes and so reverent; they had their arms folded and heads bowed. T enjoyed the bouncy cushions at the alter, but was very good.

It was a wonderful day and we look forward to celebrating this anniversary every year. Valentine's Day will be very special for our family.

Meeting Santa!

This year's Ward Christmas Party was really fun. Jade wouldn't participate in the Primary play, she was supposed to be a sheep. But she enjoyed watching as did JT. It was so packed, we had to sit in the back even though we arrived fairly early. Everyone was asked to bring a dessert, and apparently EVERYONE did!!! Desserts lined both sides of the Cultural Hall! Jade was so excited to see all those sweets. After the play, everyone got dessert and bells sounded announcing Santa's arrival. To my amazement, both kids wanted to go see Santa. I knew T would, but I knew Jade wouldn't.

JT had a great time talking to Sants. He put his hand up with his pointer and pinky fingers up and said, "Hook 'em Horns!" They talked for a while, and T said he wanted cars, and Hi-yah!s and told Santa "spiderman". After their chat with Santa, we went home and I made calendars with a picture of a kid sitting on Santa's lap, a picture for Christmas Eve and a picture for Christmas Day. We talked about each of the pictures before they crossed off a day. I also made rings to help them count down the days. This really helped. The other papers in the picture are from Jade and T's primary class. Jade taped them up there. She likes to be the mom too!

Trunk or Treat

We had a great time this year at our Ward Trunk or Treat. We had hotdogs and nachos. T was going to be Superman, but he couldn't leave his sword he got from the mall. So he's a Superman pirate. Jade is wearing the Minne Mouse costume her Uncle David and Aunt Tiffany got her on the Disney Cruise. The kids really enjoyed the cupcake walk. T got a cupcake his first time around. Jade and I went around a few times before she got one, but it was worth it. She picked a cupcake with an Ariel ring on it.!! After the carnival, we went trunk or treating. The parking lot was filled with cars, three rows in the back. I took Jade, Rob took T. They got lots of candy. T's favorite part was chasing and being chased by the other boys, then they would sword fight.

Trunk or Treat

T had a hard time moving on to the next trunk once he got his candy. He wanted to stay there and open his candy. Jade got the hang of it after she got over her shyness. Mom passed out the candy from our trunk while we took the kids around.

Jade's Blessing Day

Grandma and Grandpa came down for your blessing. Kela (Meme), Uncle Gippy, and Aunt Jamie also came.
