JADE has lots of homework in 2nd Grade, but she doesn't like to do it. "cuz there's too much things and it's boring. Mmm One happy thing is ice skating. You get to ice and wear cute outfits." Which means that she's asked us if she could get ice skating lessons. Jade memorized the 1st Article of Faith this week as well. We had her AARD review this week for her where they reviewed her speech progress. They are going to retest her in October some time and we suggested future tests to determine if she's dyslexic. They want to do some initial tests to rule out other things first, then they'll test for dyslexia.
T had two solo tackles in football yesterday. We have a video of one, but it needs to be edited down first. It's AWESOME! They mostly have him focusing on defense at the moment. He's starting to have more fun playing now. After Thursday Night's practice Robert and T played football with each other for an extra 30 - 45 min. We talked with T's Principle to get his class changed because last year he changed teachers about half way through the year due to overcrowding of his class and this year his teacher is pregnant so he'll be having a new teacher about half way through again. We feel he needs a bit more consistency and the Principle complied. T says, "I love learning and wish I could live at school." He also really likes reading.
ALLY is now talking bottles and gets fussy when she gets tired. She's becoming a little bit more difficult to put down at nights, but not nearly as bad as our previous two. She's trying to make the adjustment to Bev working.
That's right, BEV's working now. Although it's not for Lifetime Fitness. The following Monday after she got her final interview we'd been waiting on she got a call from a Ward member asking her to come work for her Perfoming Arts Center as a Director. Bev & I have been concerned about her going back to work because of how it would affect the kids and this seems like it'd be a much more flexible and better situation for the kids and for her. It's not as much money, but we don't need very much more than what Robert's bringing in to meet our bills. The more we thought and prayed on it, the more it seemed like an answer to our concerns. So she accepted it, and when called Lifetime Fitness to withdraw her application, she found out that they decided to not hire her anyways. WOW! We'd been waiting on that job for weeks like it was a sure thing, but someone up in Corporate didn't feel she was qualified because she doesn't have a degree.
There's the degree thing again. She's basically been doing the job for a couple of years, but no degree, no job...who cares if you're most qualified. Anyway, she doesn't start getting paid until Oct. 1, but she's trying to train and learn until then. She's also trying to help the Center become licensed as they're currently an unlicensed after-school program.
ROBERT got to meet two of the Radio City Rockettes this week on his show. He also had Dr. Donna Campbell on his show this week. She's running for U.S. Congress against Lloyd Doggett and must've like Robert because she invited him to speak at her Tea Party Rally on Saturday. It was the first Texas Doctors Tea Party Rally to proclaim Enough is Enough. The focus was Obamacare. So Robert gave his first speech at a Tea Party Rally. He was the 4th Speaker and the first to have "applause breaks" during the speech. He really enjoyed doing it and thinks he'd like to do that more often. He has said that the only other thing he'd like to be doing other than Talk Radio is doing either TV or being a Politician. This coming Saturday he's a judge for a food contest. He's been getting harrassed about it all week because it's a contest for best Calfry. A Calfry is like Rocky Mountain Oysters. Don't know what that is? FINE! A Calfry is calf testicles.
Also, this week, Aunt Kylene and Uncle Jeff came over one night this week and got Beverly all excited about getting a Wii. They just got the Wii Fit and shared all of their exciting new adventures with us! Bev's been wanting that "forever, even before you wanted a XBOX 360." So she's putting the pressure back on again.
